Sodium metabisulphite prices plummet in June

 

 

According to the commodity market analysis system, domestic sodium metabisulfite prices plunged in June, with the average price of industrial-grade sodium metabisulfite at RMB2,250.00/ton on June 1 and RMB1,966.67/ton on April 29, a significant drop of 12.59% during the month.

 

 

In May, domestic soda ash prices fell sharply by 20%, sulphur prices continued to oscillate at a low level, and upstream raw material prices were significantly lower under the pressure, into June, sodium metabisulphite manufacturers cut factory prices one after another, driving domestic sodium metabisulphite market prices fell sharply. Entering June upstream raw material prices continued to be weak, the cost continued to go down under the pressure, the domestic sodium metabisulfite market prices continued to be weak downward, the end of the month the overall decline to 1900-2200 yuan / ton near, down by 12.59%. Market prices fell sharply, and the downstream trade body had a strong wait-and-see attitude, with limited increase in new orders for the industry as a whole, and enterprises mainly completing orders from old customers.

 

 

 

As of June 29, domestic soda ash prices fell 5.77% and sulphur prices fell 11.93% during the month. The continued weakness of raw material prices will further suppress the market price of sodium metabisulphite in the future.

 

Future market forecast

 

Business analysts believe that the cost of raw materials continues to be low, the main downstream trade is a strong wait-and-see attitude, the negative set of domestic sodium metabisulfite market prices in July will continue to be under pressure weak operation.
